Luke McEldon seeing his game & recruitment improve after move to Oak Hill (VA)

Last month, Luke McEldon announced that he was going to attend Oak Hill (VA), and he also received his first Division I scholarship offer.

Oak Hill has produced a lot of different talent at all positions in their history, and McEldon has already started to see the benefits of being within a historic program that produced many NBA draft picks.

“Oak Hill has helped me a lot so far, we have a great team this year,” he said. “The coaching staff has helped me improve lots of things. So far the biggest improvement I’ve seen is in my free throw shot and I’ve gotten a lot better at shooting. We’ve also been working on a variety of different post moves to use in the game.”

That has led to many curious coaches calling him and his head coach. Just last month, Central Arkansas reached out to extend the offer, his first.

“It was great,” he said of adding his first offer. “I was really excited about it. Now I know that I have to keep on working.”

So far, he’s talked to Virginia Tech, Florida, Murray State, VCU, George Washington and some others.

They all like his emerging game and the versatility he can bring at any spot in the frontcourt.

“I can run the floor,” he said. “And, I’m a true big that can post up but I can shoot the midrange shot.”

As of now, he’s been preparing for the season and working hard on his game. His offensive output is something he working on right now, and that should help him get more opportunities in the future.

“I’m working a lot on shooting and I’m trying to improve my post games,” McEldon explained. “Being able to use different moves effectively.”
