College coaches should be very familiar with 6-foot-7 junior wing Darren Buchanan Jr by now.
The Woodrow Wilson (DC) product has received offers from Bryant, Seton Hall, North Texas, George Washington, Rhode Island, Akron, Rutgers, Xavier and VCU. Lehigh, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and plenty more are showing interest in the talented wing that continues to expand his game.
“Coaches like how I can score the ball and the energy I bring to the team,” Buchanan explained. “They also say they like my defensive intensity but want me to be more vocal.”
VCU, George Washington, Rhode Island and Xavier are the schools that are really making a push along with Georgetown, who recently entered the mix and is in the process of setting up a Zoom call with the prospect.
Buchanan Jr is already a guy that can really fill it up on the offensive end in many ways, and his jump shot is the latest thing he’s working on to get even better moving forward.
“Definitely my jump shot and ball handling,” he explained. “Coming off screens, setting screens and just becoming a more well rounded basketball player.”
