2022 Osseo Senior (MN) point guard Donald Ferguson III got his first scholarship offer recently from a coach with Minnesota ties.

Ferguson III, a 6-foot-1 guard, received an offer from Hampton University and has been getting recruited hard by associate head coach Darryl Sharp.

“It’s really good,” he said of his relationship with the staff at Hampton so far. “They have been staying in contact and speaking with me about life at the next level, and how tough the Big South is and college life at Hampton. Coach Sharp is also really good and use to coach in Minnesota. So he has Minnesota ties.”

Northern Colorado, Wyoming, UTSA, IUPUI, UC- San Diego, Lindwood and Winona State are also involved and they all like his command of the offense.

“Coaches like my all around game and high IQ,” he explained. “The ability to shoot the ball from deep and ability to run a team.”

As of now, the goal for Ferguson is to continue to improve on his game and add more opportunities down the road. He said he wanted to, “continue to improve my overall strength and wanting to keep adding inches to my vertical,” as he moves forward and that should get more schools involved in the future.
