2023 Newton (GA) guard Stephon Castle recently added his first scholarship offer and has a lot of other high major programs showing interest as well.
Castle announced through social media that Ohio offered him his first scholarship and confirmed that Auburn, Georgia, Wake Forest, Florida State and Howard were also showing interest as well. While very thankful for the offer, Castle still understood that it’s a journey and that he still had a lot more work to do.
“It’s a blessing for sure but I don’t try to pay attention to it too much and keep a level head when it comes to recruiting,” he said. “Because I know that if I keep working and stay humble, more and more will come.”
Castle stands at 6-foot-5 with combo guard skills that could translate into the one spot at the college level. He’s just a sophomore so he has time to figure out and that’s why coaches are continuing to show interest.
“Coaches like my maturity with the ball and my ability to shoot,” Castle explained. “That opened a lot of coaches eyes, and then adding my height to it puts everything together.”
