2022 Blue Ridge (SC) point guard Justin Bailey’s recruitment is just getting started heading into the live period and a lot of coaches from multiple levels are expected to see his progress soon.
He recently received Division I offers from Citadel, USC Upstate and Charleston Southern with scholarships also coming from Division II programs Erskine College and Southern Wesleyan, who all offered him in June.
“It’s been a blessing definitely,“ he said. “I had lost hope because my recruiting process was late but my already knew it going to come and they’ve been confident from the jump.”
In all, he has interest from Marshall, Murray State, Wofford, Winthrop, South Carolina State, North Georgia, Furman, High Point, Elon and Southeastern Louisiana, he told ScoopmanTV.
“Coaches like that I’m a three level scorer. I take pride in my defense and I can make plays for my teammates,” he explained. “I also shoot the mid range ball very well and I can hit the three ball. They also like that I’m left handed, which makes it difficult to guard me.”
So far, he’s taken unofficial visits to Wofford, USC Upstate, Citadel and Charleston Southern. He plans on going to Winthrop and North Georgia, as well, although the dates for those have not been determined yet.
So his focus remains on improving his recruitment and seeing what other options are out there heading into his final year of high school basketball.
“I want coaches to see that I can score at an elite level with consistency,” he said of what he’s looking forward to live period. “And be a great teammate.”
