2023 Ellison (TX) guard Jamyron Keller was a player that coaches had their eyes on during the Nike Peach Jam and should be following after it’s completion.
Keller helped Drive Nation 16U make the Peach Jam final and poured in 15 points in his final game of the summer. He also scored 23 points on 64 percent shooting in a game to lead all scorers in a win over E1T1 in the regular session.
Overall, he made a mark on both ends of the floor for Drive Nation and felt he could have done more but was also proud of what he was able to show and accomplish this summer.
“I think I did okay. There’s always room for improvement though,” he said. “Overall, I think I did pretty well and I like what the coaches were able to see. I had a pretty efficient summer.”
Old Dominion offered him shortly after the tournament ended and he also holds offers from Oral Roberts, Wichita State, Missouri State, SMU, Sam Houston State and Wyoming.
“Most coaches are saying they like how hard I play and that I make an impact on the game when I’m in there,” Keller explained. “Whether it’s defense, knocking down shots, locking up the best player or just my energy because that makes an impact on the game.”
New Mexico State, TCU, Texas State, Ole Miss, Alabama and many more are also showing interest and will be watching the improving guard over the next year or so. He has some room for improvement but feels he already can do a lot on both ends of the floor.
“Defensively, I’m really good at watching their feet,” he said. “Offensively…it’s getting to the cup and finishing because I have a body for contact so I can get to the lane, finish the shot and knock down the free throw.”
