Coaches from all over the country are showing interest in 2022 forward Jalen Reed following his terrific play at the Peach Jam.

We caught up with the talented forward shortly after the event concluded and he said he had heard from Xavier, DePaul, South Carolina, Florida, Ole Miss, Georgia, Arizona State, Georgia State, Cal State Bakersfield, Georgia Southern, Grand Canyon, Houston, Pitt and Washington State.

He has since then been offered by UNLV, Cal, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, Washington State and Texas Tech. He also holds offers from Xavier, DePaul, South Carolina, Pitt, Florida, Houston, Georgia State, Cal State Bakersfield, Ole Miss and Grand Canyon.

“It’s an amazing feeling of course,” he said at the time. “There is some gratification but for me, it just shows my work is paying off and also gives me a hunger to keep.”

Playing for Pro Skills (TX), Reed finished with three double-doubles and two 20-point scoring games on a stacked squad that lost one game. He finished averaging around 12 points and seven rebounds per game and was able to show coaches just how much the rankings did not matter in his case.

“I feel I did well,” he said. “I showed flashes of what I’m capable of and I showed how versatile I can be and overall I feel good about it.”

Reed did a little bit of everything. He rebounded really well, defended, was able to knock down shots and all-around show his versatility. That is mostly what coaches were able to take away from his fantastic performance in July.

“Being versatile,” he said of what coaches like about his game the most. “I’m able to stretch the floor, face up and attack from the perimeter.”
