Day 4 of the City of Palms Classic set up high level semifinal matchups and a Signature Series Championship that should be a good one.
On Day 4, we saw our first 30-point game courtesy of Angel Montas of Life Christian Academy (FL), who also chipped in seven rebounds. His teammates Breylin Garcia and Hansel Enmanuel also had pretty good games with the trio combining for 84-percent of their teams points, 80-percent of their teams rebounds and 79 percent of their teams assist.
Garcia finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Enmanuel finished with a near triple-double, 16 points, 12 rebounds, eight assist and three blocks.
Kelel Ware had the game of the day after finishing with 22 points and 18 rebounds on 10-of-15 (67%) shooting against a stacked Montverde Academy (FL) program that is littered with Division I prospect. Ware did it in defeat, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. In 2019, only one player had a combination of 20 points and 15 rebounds, and that was now-Michigan sophomore Terrance Williams, who had 22 points and 22 rebounds against McEachern (GA).
Montverde Academy continues to looks impressive and picked up their second straight lopsided victory after a 75-34 win against Orlando Christian Prep (FL). They were once again led by five-star senior Dariq Whitehead, who knocked down 5-of-8 threes and finished with a game-high 18 points.
STAT OF THE DAY: Hansel Enmanuel – 16 points, 12 rebounds, eight assist and three blocks. In 2019, four different players finished with at least a points-rebounds double-double with three blocks. None of those instances had more than three assist. Enmanuel not only nearly completed a triple-double but became the first player since Cade Cunningham with a combination of 10 points, 8 assist and five rebounds. His eight assist are also the most by any player at the tournament so far.
