Montverde Academy (FL) wins its fifth City of Palms Classic championship tied for the most in tournament history with Cypress Lake (FL), who won its last COP title in 1984.
Montverde Academy also won in 2019, becoming the first program to win back-to-back appearances since they did it almost a decade ago in 2012 and 2013.
Montverde will finish off 2021 with a 5-0 record vs Oak Hill with their 60-55 win today being the closest of the previous four.
Dillion Mitchell led Montverde Academy with 16 points, 9 rebounds and most importantly, no turnovers. Dariq Whitehead and Malik Reneau each chipped in 12 to help the Eagles overcome a late surge by Oak Hill.
Judah Mintz led Oak Hill with 22 points on 50-percent shooting with Caleb Foster and Chris Livingston each finishing with 10.
