2027 prospect Brandon Mason Jr has already made a strong impression on college coaches at the Division I level.
The 6-foot-5 guard already has seven scholarship offers from the likes of Green Bay, San Jose State, Omaha, Southern Utah, Cal State Northridge, Little Rock and UMKC before his sophomore year even starts at ABC Prep (NM).
“It pushes me a lot to see all the opportunities I’m able to have,” Mason Jr admitted. “So I make sure I stay consistent and get better.”
Although NCAA regulations prevent direct contact from college coaches to 2027 prospective student-athletes, as of now, Mason Jr. has an understanding of what attributes make him an attractive recruit.
“They like how I’m an all-around player,” he explained. “And how smooth I am for my height.”
As the live periods inch closer, more coaches will likely be on the sideline to see Mason Jr in action. In preparation, he has been diligently refining his skills, with a particular emphasis on his defensive capabilities..
“Definitely my defensive side,” he said of what he’s trying to improve on. “Showing that I can get stops and guard whoever is in front of me.”
