Teams still chasing 2024 guard Apostolos Paziotopoulos

As the clock ticks down for the class of 2024, Apostolos Paziotopoulos remains available, capturing the attention of both Division I and II coaches. Standing at 6-foot-2, Paziotopoulos has already made significant strides, particularly with the Olympiacos U18 team. During the 2022-23 season, he averaged 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game over four starts, logging 27.6 minutes per game.

The recruiting race is heating up, and Paziotopoulos has seen increasing interest from various programs.

“I had an offer from VMI,” he said. “The latest schools that have expressed interest are NJIT, Mercer, New Hampshire, and New Orleans.”

A key factor in his appeal is his basketball intelligence and versatility, qualities many coaches highlight when evaluating his game.

“They really like the way I understand the game,” he said. “They characterize me as a high-IQ guard who shoots well behind the arc and is a good creator for my teammates.”

Among the interested programs, New Orleans stands out as the school that is pushing the hardest to get the 6-foot-2 guard on campus.

“I would say New Orleans is recruiting me the hardest,” he explained. “There are also some high D2 schools recruiting me heavily too.”

As decision time looms, Paziotopoulos is focused on making his college choice soon.

“I am looking to make a decision as soon as possible,” he said. “If it’s the right fit for me.”

In preparation for his future, he has been diligently working on both physical and skill development to ensure he’s ready for the next level.

“One thing I am working on the most right now is my body. I want to be ready for next year,” he said. “On the court, I am working a lot on my shot off the dribble and my craft. That’s the main thing I am focusing on right now.”

As the 2024 season approaches, Apostolos Paziotopoulos remains one of the most intriguing prospects still on the market. His combination of size, skill, and basketball IQ makes him a highly sought-after recruit. The next few months will be crucial for both him and the programs vying for his commitment as time continues to run out for securing top talent in the class of 2024.
