2026 forward Justin Caldwell is up to nine scholarship offers already with a ton of schools also showing interest. George Mason, Old Dominion, Oklahoma State, High Point, Mississippi State, Radford, Norfolk State, VCU and Hampton have all offered so far. Charlotte, Marquette, Appalachian State, VCU, UMass, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Georgetown and Marshall are all following his progress.
The offer from Oklahoma State, one of his most recent, came as a pleasant surprise to the 6-foot-9 prospect, but you can likely attribute it to the hard work he’s put in this AAU season.
“It was great, very unexpected,” Caldwell said about the Oklahoma State offer. “But, I like how he offered me on the spot and told me how he loved my game. Coach James [Miller] is a real chill guy.”
Caldwell is currently playing with Team Loaded NC, where he averages around 17 points and 10 rebounds per game. His dominance in the post makes him a nightmare for opposing defenses, but it’s his relentless mentality that truly sets him apart from other prospects.
“They said my dawg mentality, and how you can’t teach that,” he said of what coaches like the most about his game. “I really take pride in that. I put way too much work in to let anyone think they are better than me.”
It’s still very early in the process for Caldwell, so picking a school now is not in the plans. However, he is clear about what he values in a coaching staff or program.
“I just love the coaches who buy in early,” he said. “I really believe in myself, but when a coach offers you a scholarship it mean they believe in you 100-percent too.”
