2025 forward Ashley Sims of Riverdale Baptist (Md.) has seen an uptick in his recruitment this summer. Chicago State, Loyola (Md.), Stonehill, UMBC, Le Moyne, and Holy Cross have all offered him a scholarship.

Interest is also coming from UNC Greensboro, Towson, Lafayette, Bucknell, UMass Lowell, Furman, The Citadel, and Quinnipiac.

Just last month at a DMV Hoops Live event, Sims averaged around 19 points and 9 rebounds per game, including a 30-point performance. His command of the glass and scoring ability have been on display this summer, but there’s more to his game that makes him appealing to coaches.

“They have told me they like how I handle the ball and move at my size,” he explained. “And how skillful I am.”

So far, he doesn’t have any visits planned, although he has visited UMBC in the past.

“I had a great time on the visit,” he said of UMBC. “I have a good relationship with the staff, and it’s still building.”
