College coaches have been locked in on 6-foot-8 wing Riley Jacobs of St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (VA) this summer. Since May, Fairfield, Holy Cross, Charleston, Morehead State, North Texas, and Murray State have all offered him a scholarship.
All summer long, Jacobs has been putting on a show, delivering one stellar performance after another. Recently, he averaged 23.8 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocks per game at the DMV Live Session II event, finishing in the top five in all three categories.
These remarkable numbers provide just a glimpse of how good and consistent he has been this summer, which has led to numerous scholarship offers from various coaches.
“A lot of the coaches have been watching me since last year, and they really like the jump my game has taken,” Jacobs said. “They always liked my high motor, but they’ve really seen my offensive game take a large step forward.”
With his imposing size and diverse skill set, Jacobs could fit seamlessly within any program recruiting him right now. This sentiment is echoed by the coaches courting the 2025 prospect.
“A lot of schools say that I can fit into their system because I’m a versatile forward,” he said. “I can guard anybody on defense and play inside-out.”
As college coaches continue to evaluate Jacobs, with more likely to join the fray during the live periods, he remains open in his recruitment. However, he has mentioned plans to take official visits in the fall and has somewhat of a timetable for his decision.
“I’m going to take visits throughout the fall, and I was planning on committing around the start of the high school basketball season or sometime during the high school season,” he said.
