After five intense days at the Nike Peach Jam, only four teams remain undefeated: Team Takeover (DC), Drive Nation (TX), Nightrydas Elite (FL), and the Oakland Soldiers (CA).
Team Takeover is on fire, winning its first four games for the third straight Peach Jam. Their fourth game, however, was a nail-biter. After cruising through the first three games with a combined margin of 93 points, Takeover narrowly edged out WhyNot (CA), another previously unbeaten team, by just two points.
The reigning Peach Jam champions have now won 12 straight games and haven’t tasted defeat at the event since losing to MoKan Elite (KS) in the 2022 Peach Jam finale. No team has ever won back-to-back Peach Jam championships, but that streak could end this year.
Drive Nation, boasting a 3-0 record, is eyeing its third consecutive 4-0 start at the Peach Jam. Meanwhile, Nightrydas Elite and the Oakland Soldiers are off to their best four-game start in the past five years.
The Soldiers will be put to the test against Brad Beal Elite (MO) on day 6. This will be their first meeting at the Peach Jam since 2017, a game they lost 78-66. Drive Nation will be taking on JL3 (TX). Drive Nation has won two games this Peach Jam by 20 or more points, tied for the most by any team so far.
Individually, there were plenty of standout performances. Brayden Burries scored 23 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and had three steals for SFG (CA). Burries has scored 20 or more points in four of his five games played this year at the Peach Jam. He has three 20-point double-doubles, the most of any player.
Brandon McCoy of Arizona Unity (AZ) did a little bit of everything in a two-point loss to SFG. McCoy had 19 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals. He is the seventh player since 2017 with at least 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five steals in a game at the Peach Jam.
Cameron Boozer of Nightrydas Elite continued his dominance at Peach Jam with a 22-point, eight-rebound performance in a win against Team Herro (WI). Boozer has four 20-point games this Peach Jam, tied for the most by any player.
Robert Simpson had his best game so far this Peach Jam for the Alabama Fusion (AL). He finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds while shooting 67 percent from the field. His 14 rebounds are the most in a single game by any player at this year’s Peach Jam.
Jasper Johnson of Team Thad (TN) had 16 points, nine assists, and hit four of his seven three-point attempts. His nine assists are tied for the most in a single game by any Team Thad player at the Peach Jam since at least 2017.
