The buzz is building around Reese Alston, a 6-foot-2 point guard in the class of 2027 who’s already hearing from some of the biggest programs in college basketball.
The Texas native told ScoopmanTV he’s being recruited by a wide range of schools across the country, including UTSA, Houston, Wichita State, Kentucky, Purdue, Texas, Texas Tech, Stanford, Texas A&M, UCF, UT-Arlington, Nevada, Nicholls State, Manhattan and Norfolk State.
Alston’s ability to run a team has made a strong impression on college coaches.
“They like how I’m a true point guard on the court,” he said.
That floor general identity has helped fuel his early success, but Alston knows continuing to develop as both a scorer and facilitator will be key to unlocking the next level of his recruitment.
“I’m working on being a reliable scorer and getting my teammates involved as well,” he said.
As for visits, Alston hasn’t locked anything in just yet—but that could change soon.
“As of right now I have none planned,” he said. “But I would like to take some soon.”
