Class of 2027 point guard Ty Cobb is starting to build momentum on the recruiting trail and college coaches are taking notice.
The young floor general already holds offers from Belmont, Tennessee Tech, Northwestern State and UT Martin, and he told ScoopmanTV that two more schools have recently entered the mix.
“This week I’ve also heard from North Texas and ETSU,” Cobb said.
Coaches are drawn to his ability to control the game, create for others, and stretch the floor with his shot-making.
“[They like my] high IQ, ability to create off the bounce, knock down threes, and get everyone around me involved,” he said.
One of Cobb’s most recent offers came from UT Martin, and while it’s still early in that relationship, he’s excited to see it grow.
“Good so far,” he said when asked about the staff. “Looking forward to getting to know them more.”
Cobb feels good about how he’s started the summer, but he’s staying locked in on continuing to develop.
“I feel like I’ve had a good start to the travel season,” he said. “Still have lots to work on in my game.”
Next up, Cobb will be suiting up with his high school team June 20–21 at BCAT Hoopfest, before getting back with STARS Nash for stops at LakePoint (July 10–13) and Chicago (July 17–20)—a stretch where more eyes are likely to follow.
