Trevon Carter-Givens, a versatile forward out of SoCal Academy (CA) and a key piece for Team Why Not on the Nike EYBL circuit, has seen his recruitment heat up recently.
The 2026 prospect recently picked up offers from New Mexico, TCU and Creighton, adding to a growing list that includes Florida State, Seton Hall, San Francisco, and UNLV. For Carter-Givens, the attention from high-major programs is both humbling and motivating.
“It’s great to know all my hard work is paying off. It means a lot, honestly,” Carter-Givens said. “Getting offers from high major programs shows me that all the work I’ve been putting in is being noticed. It’s also a confidence booster.”
Colorado has also reached out and remains in consistent contact. Meanwhile, Carter-Givens continues to showcase his versatility with Team Why Not, particularly on the defensive end, where he’s made a major impact this summer.
“This summer I’ve been more of a defensive guy, getting rebounds, blocking shots, getting steals,” he said. “Offensively I’ve been making reads off short rolls, catching lobs, and getting putbacks.”
Coaches hoping to track the 6-foot-8 forward’s progress will have additional opportunities later this summer. Carter-Givens will play with Team Why Not in Kansas for EYBL Session III and later this summer in North Augusta, South Carolina for the Peach Jam.
