Day 2 of NBPA Top 100: Qayden Samuels & Dylan Mingo continue to stay hot

The second day of the NBPA Top 100 Camp didn’t disappoint and the stat sheets are proof. As of 5am on Friday, one game (Team Taylor vs. Team Drummond) has yet to be logged, so the following recap is based on the current official stats.

And speaking of moments, Qayden Samuels is having one this year at the NBPA Top 100 camp. The 2026 wing followed up his strong Day 1 showing with two separate 25-point games. He has now scored at least 25 points in three of his four appearances, a mark that only one other player has matched so far: Dylan Mingo.

Samuels, who also played in the 2024 edition of the camp and averaged 20.8 points per game, currently leads this year’s event in both scoring and rebounding. If that pace holds, he would become just the second player in the last six years to finish as the camp leader in both categories, joining former McDonald’s All-American Baye Fall in 2022.

Right on his heels is Dylan Mingo, who’s put together one of the most well-rounded performances of the week. In an overtime win, the dynamic guard flirted with a triple-double, racking up 30 points, 11 assists and eight boards. As noted above, it was his third 25-point game of this year at the NBPA Top 100 camp, tied for the most with Samuels.

Furthermore, It was just the third 30-point, 10-assist game over the last 6 years at the camp, joining Darius Acuff in 2023, and Meleek Thomas in 2024.

Even with a cold shooting game sprinkled in — a 3-for-11 outing for just seven points — Mingo is still averaging 23.8 points on a sizzling 57% from the floor, the most efficient clip among campers averaging at least 20 points per game.

And it’s not just scoring. Mingo’s been a playmaker with the ball. He’s logged at least five assist in every game so far, making him the only player at the camp with at least five assist in four games.

Stretch forward Quinn Costello continued to light it up from deep. The talented power forward, who is listed at 6-foot-8, knocked down eight three-pointers on Day 2, bringing his total to 13 for the tournament., the most of any player. He’s averaging 3.3 made threes per game on 48% shooting from beyond the arc.

Ethan Mgbanko bounced back after a quiet Day 1 with an impressive scoring performance. In one of his games on Thursday, he finished with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting and hit six of his nine attempts from three-point range.

His 22-point effort exceeded his combined scoring output from the other three games, and his 6 triples are tied for the most threes any camper has hit in a single game over the last six years. He’s only the 2nd player since 2019 to hit 6 threes in a game at NBPA Top 100 camp, joining Tristan Maxwell who also hit six in a game during the 2019 camp.

On the defensive end, no one’s patrolling the paint like Sayon Keita. The rim-protecting 7-footer is swatting shots away at a tournament-best rate of 3.5 blocks per game and on day 2 alone, he recorded nine blocks across two games. He has now posted at least four blocks in three straight games. His three games with four blocks or more are currently tied for the 2nd most by any player since 2019. Flory Bidunga had three spanning the 2022 and 2023 camp, while Pape N’diaye had four such games in 2023.

While Samuels, Mingo and company have headlined the early action, they’re far from the only ones making noise. Here are some more stat lines that stood out on Day 2:
