From a promising underclassman in Pennsylvania to a rising name on the national radar, Brandon Martin Jr.‘s stock is gaining serious traction. Now suiting up for The Phelps School and showcasing his game on the Under Armour circuit, the 2028 guard is proving he’s not just a name to remember, he’s one to keep tabs on.
Martin, who previously played at Greensburg Central Catholic (PA), recently announced his transfer to The Phelps School, a move he described as “a no brainer.”
“I wanted to go somewhere and play on a national level and be able to compete against the best while still getting great development,” he explained. “This program is very familiar with players similiar to me like Will Riley, a standout guard at Illinois going to the draft.”
So far this summer, Martin has continued to turn heads. Competing on the Under Armour Association circuit, he’s held his own while refining key parts of his game.
“This summer has been good for me so far,” he said. “I see myself improving on the defensive end and being more fluid. I’ve strived a lot in transition.”
His recruitment continues to reflect his growth. A handful of new programs have begun tracking him in recent months and his list continues to grow. Kent State, Akron, Duquesne, Ohio State, St. Joseph’s, Pittsburgh, San Diego and McNeese State, are just a few schools that he named as tracking him thus far.
Even though a commitment is still a ways off, Martin already knows what he’s looking for in a future home.
“My philosphy through my recruitment is to find a place that me and my circle think I willl not only develop on the court but also develip into a man.”
With a national schedule on the horizon at Phelps and continued exposure against elite competition, Martin’s trajectory both on the court and in recruiting continues to trend upward.
