Matthew Lentz‘s recruitment continues to improve as his game expands heading into his final year of high school basketball.

Lentz, a 6-foot-7 forward from Durant (FL) recently added an offer from Jacksonville. It’s his third scholarship offer since September 30th joining Bethune-Cookman and Denver, and he credits his work ethic for the continued opportunities at the Division I level.

“[Coaches] they’ve just seen me improve as a player overall,” he said. “And my consistent work habits trying to get better everyday.”

He also confirmed that American and Air Force recently reached out to express interest, and the likelihood of them offering him a scholarship is high. Especially considering how coaches see him as a prospect at the next level.

“[Coaches] they like my size and versatility,” he said. “Being able to shoot and space the floor, while also being able to attack the basket and run the floor. Then, just my general basketball IQ.”

Lentz has spent a lot of his offseason working on his body and consistently shooting. Those are two of the main emphases moving forward for the senior forward.

“I’m working on becoming a better overall athlete,” Lentz explained. “Being bigger, faster and stronger to be more ready for the college level.”

“Then continuing to improve on my shooting and becoming more consistent.”
