Clarence Jackson visiting Drake

Polk State College (FL) freshman guard Clarence Jackson is a qualifier with three years left to play.
The 6-7 guard that has been dubbed, “Mr. Versatility,” by almost anyone that has watched him, has offers from Stetson, Mount St. Mary’s, Akron, Coastal Carolina, Radford and Drake with LSU, New Mexico State, Boise State, Wichita State and UNC Asheville showing interest.
“Coaches love my motor and the versatility to play two through four and produce–scoring or playmaking,” Jackson said. “Also my ability to defend anybody on the floor. Dog mentality.”
Wichita State came in last Thursday to see him, while Stetson pulled the trigger on an offer.
“I was very grateful for that offer,” he said. “I have a good relationship with the coach and it’s clear that I will be a key piece in rebuilding the program.”
Jackson’s recruitment is starting to really heat up and more programs are starting to show interest. With more programs starting to recruit him, he’s unsure about his commitment timeline or when he’ll make any recruiting decisions for that matter.
“Right now in my recruitment I’m not set on signing early,” he explained. “I don’t have a sure date for when I’m going to make a commitment.”
Drake, who was one of the first programs to reach out and offer following his decision to go JUCO, will be expecting him on campus tomorrow for a visit (Oct 24th).
It’ll be his first visit since joining Polk State College.
