College coaches wasted no time zeroing in on 2026 guard Saxton Simley. The 6-foot-5 standout received calls from a range of programs—Notre Dame, George Mason, Towson, Old Dominion, American, Stonehill, UMBC, San Diego, Saint Joseph’s, and Princeton—as soon as they could officially contact 2026 prospects on June 15th.

Simley also netted a few scholarship offers from Old Dominion and Saint Joseph’s in process.

“It was an honor,” he said. “It felt as though everything is coming together. All the hard work I put into the game I love is finally showing.”

So far, the buzz from coaches has been electric. Simley acknowledged he’s eager to showcase his shot-making prowess more this summer, but overall, coaches are buzzing about his multifaceted talent.

“Some feedback they gave me was just to have short term memory when playing the game,” he explained. “Tell yourself ‘next play’ whenever a shot doesn’t go in, or you make a turnover, etc.”

“And what coaches like the most about the game is how I can play multiple positions and I am a versatile player.”

Despite the flurry of new interest already swirling around Simley, there’s more to come. He expects coaches to come to a few more live events this summer, which could lead to even more interest and scholarship offers.

“Some coaches will be coming to see me during live period at Sidwell Friends in DC from June 21-23,” he said. “Others will come to Philly Live Period at St Joe’s Prep and Jefferson College from June 28-30, and last Peach Jam for EYBL in July.”
