Tommy Ahneman, the 2023-24 North Dakota Player of the Year, from the class of 2025, has seen a significant increase in scholarship offers, with 10 new offers reported since May.

Over the summer, offers have poured in from Montana, Northern Iowa, Omaha, North Dakota State, Penn State, Iowa, DePaul, Nebraska, Northwestern, and Minnesota.

But the interest doesn’t stop there. Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, St. Mary’s, Wisconsin, and Creighton have also shown interest in the versatile big man.

“They really like my versatility,” Ahneman shared, shedding light on what makes him a hot commodity. “Being able to score on all levels and being a willing passer who can start the offense.”

Ahneman’s stock skyrocketed this summer likely due to his play on the EYBL circuit with Howard Pulley (MN) since late April. Over 11 games, he averaged 20.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, shooting an impressive 76 percent from the field. This standout performance is undoubtedly why his mailbox is now full of scholarship offers.

As his game continues to evolve, more and more coaches are taking notice. Nebraska, one of his newest suitors, recently had the privilege of hosting Ahneman for an unofficial visit, which left a strong impression on him.

“The visit was very well done,” he said. “I got to sit down with the coaches, watch some film, and see the campus. I feel like the relationship is growing.”

The visit went so well that the four-star prospect has penciled in an official visit to Nebraska for September 20. But that’s not all—Ahneman is also set to officially visit Minnesota on August 29 and is in talks to arrange more official visits to Notre Dame, Creighton, and Penn State.
