Peyton Watson staying home at UCLA

Colorado Springs, CO – July 25 : USAB MJNT July Minicamp

UCLA has made major moves since hiring Mick Cronin away from Cincinnati.

The head man from UCLA lured Rivals and 247Sports five-star point guard Daishen Nix to LA before he headed off to the G-League; got Kentucky transfer Johnny Juzang to return home, along with adding consensus four-star wing Jaylen Clark.

Now, they have a chance to secure another five-star talent in Peyton Watson, who just announced his commitment to the program.

Watson joins Will McClendon of Bishop Gorman (NV) in UCLA’s 2021 recruiting class.

Not even a year ago, Watson had two scholarship offers from Grand Canyon and Montana. That was until he made an appearance for Team USA and held his own. Most talk following the camp focused on his defense, but his offense is also very impressive.

He will be playing for head coach Cronin, who went 19-12 in his first season at UCLA, the most wins since 2017-18, and their 12 conference wins were the most since 2016-17.
