HBCU Morgan State has made 2021 Oldsmar Christian (FL) guard Bryce Johnson a top priority over the last week.
The staff reached out to Johnson recently, offered him a scholarship and left quite the impression on the 6-foot-3 student-athlete. So far, the relationship amongst the two has progressed.
“Our relationship is just in the beginning phases and after speaking with coach today, I have the upmost respect for him,” Johnson said. “I am excited to continue building a relationship. It speaks volumes when you get your first offer because you know the coaching staff trust you and is serious about you.”
Morgan State has definitely been serious with Johnson since viewing his film. They feel the fit is perfect, and plan on recruiting him hard until he decides.
“They said they’ve been keeping a close eye on me,” he said. “And love all aspects of my game, and I’d be a perfect fit for their program.”
Morgan State along with Lincoln Memorial, VMI, Sam Houston State, Holy Cross and UNC Asheville are recruiting Johnson currently. He continues to spend extra time in the gym working on his game so that more opportunities can come in the future.
“I work on everything honestly,” he explained. “But, the most important is ball handling, slashing, shooting off the dribble and defense.”
