2022 Legion Collegiate Academy (SC) point guard Shane Blakeney has a lot of upside and he’s hoping to show coaches just that during the July live period.
The 6-foot-4 guard has a 6-foot-10 wingspan and has received offers from USC Upstate and Morehead State recently.
He has plans to visit Morehead State in the future but hasn’t set a date just yet. He did mention that could take place in August.
Binghamton, Elon, VMI, Citadel, Charleston Southern, Florida Atlantic, Brown, Yale, East Tennessee State, Army, Air Force, Drexel, Xavier, Louisiana, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Wilmington, Howard and Charlotte are also among the others recruiting him currently.
“Coaches like my size as a point guard,” he said. “And my versatility, length, shooting and my ability to guard multiple positions.”
Blakeney will be showcasing his skills this live period with the Upward Stars SE. He plans to continue working on his all-around game and, “pretty much just working on my body, adding a little size,” he said.
With that, he could become a coveted prospect for some of the programs already showing interest.
