Pennsylvania wing Daouda Dembele adds Troy offer

2022 wing Daouda Dembele of Perkiomen (PA) announced via Twitter that the coaching staff at Troy offered him a scholarship.

Millersville has also offered with programs such as Wright State, Saint Anslem, Pace, Wheeling and Wilmington following his recruitment as well.

“It’s been really good just to get to know them on another level other than basketball,” Dembele said of Troy. “These are some really great people, and they have made me feel real comfortable already.”

Before Covid, the talented forward prospect had plenty of suitors, and should start to get more looks as his final season progresses.

“Most of my Division I looks have dialed down since COVID,” he explained. “At one point, I was talking to Mount St. Mary’s, UMBC, East Carolina, Cornell, Boston, Lehigh, Idaho, Air Force, VMI and Princeton.”

And he’s only gotten better. Versatility is something that is at a premium at the college level, regardless of division, and most of the coaches recruiting him believe he can help out in that aspect.

“All of the coaches really love my versatility on both the defensive and offensive end,” he said. “Being able to guard one through five, and also not being one dimensional on offense.”

So far, Dembele doesn’t have anything planned currently for visits, but, did say that he hopes, “to visit Troy in the near future.”
