Kaden Powers, a 6-foot-5 high school basketball prospect from the class of 2025, is rapidly becoming a hot commodity for college programs across the nation. His skill set has already earned him scholarship offers from San Francisco, Montana, Idaho, UT Arlington, Weber State, UNLV, and Seattle. Moreover, he has sparked the interest of several other prominent programs, including San Diego State, Colorado, Washington, Kansas, Fresno State, Boise State, and Oregon State.

Many college programs have been monitoring his progress throughout the summer, and more are expected to evaluate him soon.

“All the schools that offered me always want to come watch me play and they want to see every game,” Powers explained. “So, they try to attend the games they can or watch online.”

So far, the feedback from coaches has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting his evolution as a playmaker.

“They all love my ability to score and get my teammates involved with my passing,” he said. “A lot of them say my passing is very underrated.”

At 6-foot-5, Powers has the ideal size for a point guard at the college level. This is a role he has eagerly contemplated, as he shared, “I would love playing point guard. I think I’m really good at it.”

Although discussions regarding his position have yet to take place with the interested coaches, Powers acknowledges that this conversation is inevitable. In preparation, he has been honing his point guard skills, which could further elevate his appeal.

“I am working on it,” he said of his point guard skills. “I’m becoming more of a vocal leader and working on making my handle a little tighter to really become a point guard.”

One of the programs closely watching him is Kansas. They have shown significant interest and plan to see him in action soon, he says.

“They [Kansas] like that I’m a big guard standing at 6-foot-5 and can play multiple positions if needed,” he said. “Also, my ability to score when needed.”

According to Powers, KU plans to attend Section 7 to watch him play in Arizona. He will be competing with his high school team, Rainier Beach (WA), in the City of Glendale Bracket in Phoenix from June 21-23.
