Northfield Hermon (MA) prospect Blair Thompson gets Ivy League offers

Academics is something that Northfield Mount Hermon (MA) junior guard Blair Thompson will be prioritizing during his recruitment and Ivy League program Penn made sure they made an impression.

Thompson announced on his social media account that Penn head coach Steve Donahue offered him a scholarship and the staff has already developed a good relationship and should be a program he takes very seriously moving forward.

“I have a great relationship with them,” he said. “The program is impressive.”

Columbia has also recently offered with Cincinnati, Stanford, Colgate, Manhattan, Yale and Fairfield all showing interest in the 6-foot-7 prospect that can play multiple positions.

“Coaches mainly like that I’m position-less,” he said. “I have size and a great shot.”

Thompson is completely open and giving each program a fair chance of recruiting him. He doesn’t plan on deciding or narrowing soon, but he does know what he wants in a program outside of elite academics.

“I’m looking for a program that competes,” he said. “And has a focus on player development.”
